User Manual is a vision-powered AI assistant that lives on the side of your screen. It sees what you see — your applications, your browser, your code editor — and provides precise, step-by-step guidance in real time. Think of it as a live, interactive user manual that adapts to whatever you're working on.
Every piece of software comes with documentation, but no one reads it in context. We built User Manual because the best time to get help is while you're looking at the screen — not after you've switched tabs, described your problem in text, and hoped the answer matches what you're seeing. Vision AI changes this. The assistant sees your screen and responds accordingly.
User Manual is an Electron desktop app that docks to the right side of your screen. When you ask a question, it captures a screenshot and sends it to a multimodal AI model (Gemini 2.5 Pro or GPT-4o). The model analyzes the screenshot — recognizing applications, UI elements, text, code, and errors — and responds with numbered, actionable steps. On-screen pointers show you exactly where to click.
Screenshots are compressed locally before transmission and are never stored on our servers. Screen data is processed in-flight and discarded after each response. We don't train on your data. Your screen stays private.
User Manual is a product of Augmentable, a company focused on building AI-powered tools that augment human productivity. We also build AI agents for WordPress content workflows, research automation, and more.
